History

Our story begins in 1998 when Matt Lisignoli a city kid who grew up in NE Portland, moved to Central Oregon and decided to plant a small pumpkin patch in Redmond Oregon. At that time there were no other pumpkin patches in the area and locals thought he was crazy to try and grow pumpkins in the High Desert. But he preservered and soon we were managing a small produce stand and pumpkin patch that we named the Central Oregon Pumpkin Patch.

In September of 2001  we moved our family and business to a historic but neglected farmstead in Terrebonne. We fell in love with this place and rolled up our sleeves to bring it back to its glory days to share with all of our visitors. In 2003 we added our first large scale Corn Maize to the pumpkin patch and began adding more family friendly activities for all to enjoy. Soon after we renamed the farm Smith Rock Ranch.

Over the last several years a trip in October to SRR has become a tradition for many families. We are so happy to see the next generation carrying on the tradition. Our family feels tremendously blessed that we are able to share this amazing place with others, and are able to continue doing what we love.
